Larry Dean “Spitter” Roush, 55, of 623 E. 7 1.2 St. N., died of kidney failure, Sunday, May 4, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be Thursday 1t 1:30 p.m. at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call after 12 p.m. noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation with family members will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Memorials in Mr. Roush’s name will be accepted.
The son of Harley Laverne and Frances (Pyle) Roush, he was born June 24, 1941, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1961.
He married Janet L. Conn Sept. 13, 1968 in Omaha, Neb.
A lifelong resident of Newton he was employed by the Maytag Company as a space insulation for 20 years. Mr. Roush was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Izaak Walton League.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob of Newton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jacqueline Palmer and Steve Minner of Montezuma, Tracy and Dan Olson of Des Moines, and Mary Roush of Newton; three grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Jean Roush of Berthoud, Colo.; and his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father.
