William L. "Bill" Quick, age 74 of Prairie City, Passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 14, 2016, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Taylor House Hospice or the Prairie City Ambulance Fund. The son of Walter L. and Margaret Mae (Camerer) Quick, Bill was born on October 20, 1941, in Melcher Dallas, Iowa. On May 30, 1970, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann DeWeerd in Pella. Bill worked at John Deere in Ankeny, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, going to coffee time at Goldie's, babysitting his grand dogs and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his two daughters, Brenda (Gary) Johnston of Prairie City and Elizabeth Quick of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Hayden and Justin Johnston; siblings, Marianne Louise Smith of Prairie City, Ralph (Florence) Quick of Kellogg, Helen Hall of Melcher Dallas, Iowa, Nellie (Darrell) Wertz of Kellogg, and Ruth (Richard) Luett of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents, wife in 2010 and siblings, Virginia Grace, Norma Jean, Bernice, Lee and Donald. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 11 Aug 2016.
