Masonic services for Kenneth Robinson were held Monday, March 05, 2007 at the Congregational United Church of Christ followed immediately by the memorial services. He passed away March 1, 2007. Kenneth served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII, where he was a part of the occupation forces in Japan. Kenneth was a production worker at the Maytag Company for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton; Worshipful Master in 1984 and other committees/honors: Thrice Illustrious Masters Association; and Iowa Past commanders Association. He was a member of the Charles Clyde Hunit Priory #42 Knight of York Cross of Honour (K.Y.C.H.). He was a member of St. Ignatius Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine; Kenneth was honored by his fellow brethren in 2003 by being awarded the “Mason of the Year” award; and he served as Worthy Patron in 1981; 1984; and 1986 of the Newton Chapter No. 100 O.E.S.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or to the Congregational United Church of Christ or to the Newton Lodge No. 59 A.F. & A.M. Memorials may be left at the church on the morning of the service or at the funeral home.
Those left to honor Kenneth’s memory include his wife Carol of Newton; two sons, Glen Robinson of Des Moines, Iowa; and Randal (Pat) Robinson of Waterloo, Iowa; his four grandchildren, Sean (LeAnn) Robinson; Melissa (Sam) Stravers; Ashley (Steve) Knowles; and Brian Robinson; great-grandson, Hunter Lee Knowles; his seven brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Alice Robinson; great-grandson, Jayden Robinson in infancy; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
