Services Held for Anna Rietveld
Funeral services were held August 15, 1949, at Otley Reformed church for Mrs. Susanna Rietveld, with the Rev. Geo. Pennington in charge.
Susanna Rietveld, the daughter of Daniel and Marie Dielman, was born November 2, 1875, in Marion county, Iowa, and died at the home of her son, David Rietveld, of near Reasnor, August 12, 1949, at the age of 73 years.
She was married to Kirk Rietveld March 10, 1897. She was a member of the Otley Reformed church. She spent the last several years of her life in Otley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and is survived by four children: Dick A. of Reasnor, Dan of Otley, John M. of Pella, and Mrs. Marie Wheeler of Monroe; four sisters, Mrs. John Heerma of Des Moines, Mrs. Kate Schultz of Reasnor, Mrs. Neal DeYoung of Sheldon and Mrs. Dirk Van Zomeren of Otley; and one brother, Dan Dielman of Pella; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was a loving mother, and a good neighbor and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Interment was in Graceland cemetery, Pella. Pallbearers were Jean Rietveld, Alvin Rietveld, Norman Rietveld, Marion Aalberts, Gilbert Van Dusseldorp and Wilbur Van Zomeren.
