Services Held
Services for Edith A. Reynolds, of Newton, were held Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at the Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. Ed Lord, Associate Pastor of the Community Heights Alliance Church officiated the services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Edith passed away Friday, August 17, 2001, at Skiff Medical Center.
The daughter of William A. and Mary Ida Curry Kinart, Edith was born October 18, 1913, in Newton, Iowa. She was a 1932 graduate of Newton High School. She married Virgil E. Reynolds September 8, 1934, in Atlantic, Iowa. She lived in California during World War II, prior to moving to Newton. While in California, she was a Cosmetician.
Edith worked in the Accounting Department in Newton Manufacturing, was a member of the Methodist Faith, was a Co-Founder and Co-Chairperson of Jasper Co. Alzheimer’s Support Group, Review Committee for area Nursing Homes; was with Skiff Hospital Auxiliary; Tele-a-Care; and a member of Newton area “Over 55” Bowling League.
Survivors are one daughter, Sharon Eaton, of Newton and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil E. Reynolds; two brothers, Ivan Kinart and William Kinart Jr.; and two sisters, Marie Sparks and Lois Hoffmaster.
