John "Jack" Holland
June 20, 1937 - August 7, 2016

John "Jack" Irving Holland, age 79 of Prairie City, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Newton Health Care in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will take place at Newton Union Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Irving Francis and Ruth Ida (Berg) Holland, John was born on June 20, 1937, in Michigan. On December 1, 1954, he was united in marriage to Donna Marie Ray in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jack was a member of the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church near Sully, Iowa. He enjoyed going on family trips and the company of friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Lisa (Jim) Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio, Fanchen Meece of Owosso, Michigan, Patrick (Joan) Holland of Colfax, Jon Holland of Colfax and Phil (Amber) Holland of Prairie City; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
