Life Story of June Ramage
Mrs. Ralph (June) Ramage, 75, a resident of Monroe since 1940 and a former resident of Newton and physical education teacher in the Newton schools until retiring in 1967, died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Monroe.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Reese Chapel in Newton.
The Rev. William Sexton, pastor of the Newton Presbyterian Church, conducted services. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. (should be Monroe Silent Cemetery)
Surviving is a brother, Frank Pearson of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister.
Mrs. Ramage was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newton, a life member of the Iowa State Teachers Association, the AO chapter of PEO, and the Newton Woman’s Club; and was a member and past chairperson of the Bridge Department of the Woman’s Club.
Mrs. Ramage served as a substitute teacher in Colfax for three years following her retirement in Newton.
The daughter of Henry and Jessie Davis Pearson, she was born May 16, 1903 in Newton, was graduated from Newton Community High School and the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls and attended Drake University in Des Moines.
She was married to Ralph Ramage June 24, 1940 in Sioux City.
