Funeral services for Connie Sue Plum were held Tuesday, January 23, 1996, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon. Father James McAlpin officiated with burial in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon.
Connie Sue Plum, the daughter of Mike and Maxine Fowler Maletta, was born June 17, 1951, at Centerville, Iowa. She received her education in Centerville schools and graduated from Centerville High School in 1969. She then went on to attend Indian Hills Community College in Centerville. On May 15, 1971 she was united in marriage to Ronald Plum in Centerville, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Germany for two years while Ron was in the Air Force and later one year in South Carolina. The couple then moved to New Sharon, Iowa, and in 1978, came to Sheldon. For the last seven years she has been employed at the HyVee Food Store in Sheldon, she passed away on Saturday, January 20, 1996 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center at the age of 44.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon and was active in sports.
Survivors are her husband, Ron, of Sheldon; four children, two sons Marty and Mark and two daughters Teresa and Tracy all of Sheldon; four brothers, John Maletta of Bellevue, Nebraska; Wesley Shepard of Centerville, Iowa, Richard Shepard of South Bend, Indiana, and Jack Shepard of Blue Hill, Nebraska; six sisters Mrs. Barbara Owens of Monroe, North Carolina, Mrs. Faire Tate of Lowell, Michigan, Mrs. Mary Ann McClosky of Norway, Iowa, Mrs. Patricia Roe of Iowa City, Iowa, Mrs. Loretta Dykes of Centerville, Iowa and Mrs. Iva Doggett of Monroe, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
