Services Held
Funeral services were held for Ethel Tyrrell Woody Pitts February 13, 1985, at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Rev. Donald Brong, Ankeny officiated with burial in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
She died Feb. 10 at Mercy medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born Sept. 28, 1904 at Otley, Iowa, the daughter of Gerrit and Gretchen Klein Kaldenberg. She lived in Monroe most of her life and was the former owner of Tyrrell Coffee Shop.
Survivors include her husband Joseph Pitts of Polk City and two daughters, Mrs. Orland (Ann) Huyser, Pella and Mrs. Roy (Mary) Cupples of Grand Island, Neb. and a sister, Dorothy Van Veen of Pella and 5 grandchildren.
Preceding her were her parents, first husband, Everett Tyrrell; second husband A. O. Woody, 2 brothers, Willard and Gerald Kaldenberg and one sister Cornelia Pitts.
