Services to be Held
Services for Loren Perkey, 88, of Pella will be held Friday, April 21 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Rev. Wayne Bekkering will officiate the services. Burial of the cremains will be in Dunreath Cemetery in Monroe.
Friends may call for family visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Born September 19, 1922, in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Loren was the son of John and Maggie Ford Perkey. He married Margaret Marie Thomason February 14, 1937 in Knoxville. He has lived in Pella since 1945 and lived in the Monroe area before moving to Pella. He had been a mechanic at Schiebout Tire Company in Pella. He was a charter member of the Pella Auxiliary Police.
Survivors are one son, James A. Perkey of Des Moines; one daughter, Benita and Keith Templeton of Monroe; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Lynn “Beanie” Perkey of Tucson, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 brothers, and an infant sister.
