Services Held
Funeral services for Ruth E. Bair Pearson, 87, were held February 4, 1991, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
She died Friday morning of heart failure at the Barnard Zerley home in rural Monroe where she was making her home.
Survivors are two cousins, Ethel (Mrs. Hollis) Hanson of Mingo and Lavon (Mrs. Bernard) Zerley of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ollie, March 7, 1983, and a brother, Virgil Blair, April 21, 1983.
Mrs. Pearson, owner-operator of a nursing home in Albia for several years, was a member of the First Christian Church.
The daughter of Leon and Dela Gearhart Bair, she was born Jan. 28, 1904 in Newton and attended Jasper County rural schools.
She was married to Ollie Marion Pearson June 5, 1939 in Des Moines.
Mrs. Pearson, who had lived in Jasper County most of her life, lived in Albia and in Kellogg where she resided until 1987 when she moved to Midtown Apartments. Following a short period she moved to the Zerley home.
