Services Held
Services for Beulah Irene Thomasson Payton were held Saturday, April 15, 2000, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. The Rev. Max Johnson conducted the services. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the Melcher-Dallas Rescue Unit or to the church of your choice will be accepted.
Beulah was born November 19, 1918, in Monroe, Iowa, to James and Elizabeth Williams Thomasson. She died April 11, 2000, at the age of 81 at Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines.
September 15, 1940, Beulah married Leonard Payton and to this union three children were born: Norman, Norma, and Richard.
Beulah and Leonard lived in Monroe until 1956 when they moved to Melcher-Dallas. She was a homemaker and a babysitter for many local families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son Richard who died in 1974, three brothers, and two sisters. Beulah was the last of her family.
Beulah is survived by her husband Leonard, her son Norman of Melcher-Dallas, and her daughter Norma of Kingman, Arizona. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
