Life Story of Dorothy Patrick
Funeral services for Dorothy Alberta Patrick were held January 28, 1974 at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The Rev. Verlin Pulver of the Faith Baptist Church of Prairie City conducted the services.
Interment was at the Barney Cemetery at Lorimor, Iowa.
Dorothy Alberta McGriff, daughter of Charles A. and Amy Belle Ferguson McGriff, was born March 31, 1916, at Monroe, Iowa, and entered into rest January 24, 1974, at Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa, at the age of 57 years.
She was united in marriage to Harold Patrick on April 17, 1943, at Unionville, Missouri.
Mrs. Patrick is survived by her husband, Harold; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Amy Bridgett) Petrovich of Bogotá, Columbia, South America, Mary Kathleen and Cathy Eileen, both of Monroe; her mother, Mrs. Charles (Amy) McGriff, Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Clarice) Hoagland, Monroe, and Mrs. Bernard (Alice) Hummel, Ankeny, Iowa; one brother, Patrick McGriff, Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are four stepchildren, Edward D. Patrick, Harold H. Patrick, Jr., and Mrs. Elizabeth Nichols, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Wilma Hadley of Texas; and 11 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Mrs. Earl (Carmen) Schrull. Mrs. Patrick was a lifelong resident of Monroe and a graduate of the Monroe High School.
