Services Held
Services for D. Faye Mitchell of Tama, were held December 16 at the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama. Rev. Jan Burnett officiated the services. Interment was in the Hart Woods Cemetery in rural Cambria, Iowa. She passed away December 13, 1996, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama.
Born in Humeston on August 21, 1904, Faye was the daughter of James and Mary Adams Yates. She received her education in the Humeston schools. On April 9, 1928, she was united in marriage to Frank Mitchell in Kansas City, Missouri. She operated a restaurant in Monroe. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and I.O.O.F.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one sister; five brothers and one grandson.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Brown and her husband Lou of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Jim and his wife Nancy of Tama; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
