Services Held
Joint funeral services for Ruth H. Miller, 74, and daughter, Marilyn Jean Miller, 48, both of Colfax were held Friday, April 16, 1993, at the United Methodist Church in Colfax.
The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.
Memorials in their names will be accepted.
Mrs. Miller died Monday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines and Miss Miller Tuesday at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Mrs. Miller, a homemaker, is survived by three daughters, Jane Ann (Mrs. Russell) Deardon of Des Moines and Sandra (Mrs. Bill) Alfree and Rhonda (Mrs. Gilbert) Sickora, both of Colfax; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Dale Meyers of Moore, Oklahoma, and Arlie Meyers Jr. of Davis City; and two sisters, Neva Hanawalt of Monroe and Dorothy Shuey of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley, a daughter, two brothers and a granddaughter.
The daughter of Arlie and Bertha Myers Meyers, she was born April 13, 1918, in Colorado.
She was married to Stanley Miller August 23, 1937 in Newton.
Miss Miller was preceded in death by three sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.
The daughter of Stanley and Ruth Meyers Miller, she was born September 5, 1944 in Colfax.
