Margaret Leona Melson, 77, of San Jose, Calif., formerly of Des Moines, died of a heart attack Tuesday at a San Jose hospital. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Monroe town cemetery.
Mrs. Melson lived in Des Moines most of her life and was a retired maid at the Hotel Franklin.
Survivors include four sons, Junior and Harold, both of Sacramento, Calif., Francis of Lake Side, Calif., and Dewight of San Juan Bautista, Calif.; five daughters, Anna Marie Murphy of Des Moines, Maxine Palmer of Newark, Calif., Margaret Henderson and Anna Belle Faulkner, both of San Jose, and May Belle Fowler of Milpitas, Calif.; a step-daughter, Lena Bruse of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a brother, Merle Lint of Des Moines; two half-brothers, George Lint of Arkansas and Norman Lint of Des Moines; two half-sisters, Grace Breasley of Des Moines and Darlene Warrner of Norwalk; 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hamilton’s Funeral Home after 9 a.m. today.
