Services Held
Funeral services for Charles McSparen, 58, of Eddyville were held Tuesday, November 6, 1990, at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Burial was in the Pleasant Corner Cemetery near Eddyville.
Mr. McSparen died Saturday, November 3, at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.
He is survived by his wife, Alyce Hewitt McSparen; three sons, four daughters, including Mary Dawn Malone of Monroe; four brothers, two sisters; two half sisters; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Phillip and Elma Lohan McSparen, one brother and one sister.
Born July 27, 1932, in Ottumwa, Mr. McSparen lived in the Eddyville area since 1960. He was married August 2, 1952, in Kahoka, Mo.
He was employed by John Morrel and Company and Renfrew Trucking. He was veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was past president and member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Graveside military rites will be performed by The Walter B. Schafer Post 775 Veterans of Foreign War.
