Donald J. McMichael of Monroe passed away Saturday, January 10, 1987 at the Des Moines General Hospital at the age of 63 years from cancer. He had been ill since Dec. 3.
He was born on May 12, 1923 at Des Moines the son of Charles A. and Osie Woolery McMichael. He was united in marriage to Alberta Salsberry on January 12, 1957.
The couple moved to Monroe in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Ruth. He is survived by his wife Alberta, two sons Larry Shepard of Des Moines and Terry Phipps of Knoxville, seven grandchildren and one foster grandson. Also surviving are two brothers Lyle McMichael of San Benito, Texas and Ralph McMichael of Grimes and one aunt Jane Woolery.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 13 at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with pastor Cy Osborne officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
