Services Held
Funeral services for Donald Wade McKinney of Newton were held Monday, March 27, 2000, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. Rick Johnson, pastor of Dike United Methodist Church in Dike officiated the services. Burial was at Newton Union Cemetery.

Mr. McKinney died of heart failure, Friday, March 24, 2000, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A lifelong resident of Newton, Mr. McKinney was employed as a machinist and supervisor by Maytag Manufacturing, before his retirement in 1977.
The son of William and Etta Jane Hopkins McKinney, he was born December 7, 1917, in Clark County. He graduated from Newton High School in 1937. He married Margaret Marie Johnson April 15, 1939, in Newton.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Dixie and Ronald and Darlene, all of Newton, Jim and Carolyn of Monroe and Clifford and Sandra of Omaha, Nebraska; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Louise of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and three sisters.
