Services Held
Graveside services were held at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe on Saturday, April 29, 1989, for Ruth Lorene McCoy of Rt. 1, Runnells, who died at her home on Thursday, April 27.
The daughter of Charlie and Jennie Vander Ploeg Deitrick, she was born June 28, 1916 in Jasper County.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan; two brothers, Levi Deitrick of Monroe, and Howard Deitrick of Newton; and a sister, Dorothy Rouch of California.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and a sister.
She was married to Harlan McCoy on December 7, 1935, in Des Moines.

Ruth Lorene Deitrick McCoy, 72, of Runnells, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Thursday, April 27, 1989 at her home.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Silent City Cemetery at Monroe. Elder Arthur Nichols of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Knoxville conducted the services. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Memorials to the Runnells Fire Department Rescue Unit are being accepted.
Survivors are her husband, Harlan; two brothers, Levi Deitrick of Monroe and Howard Deitrick of Newton; and a sister, Dorothy Rousch of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. McCoy was a member of Morgan Valley Christian Church south of Prairie City.
The daughter of Charlie and Jennie Vander Ploeg Deitrick, she was born June 8, 1916 in Jasper County.
She was married to Harlan McCoy December 7, 1935 in Des Moines.
