Services Held
Funeral services were held for M. Clare McCauley Monday, August 3, 1981 at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Wolcott and Rev. Eldon Pals officiated. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
M. Clare McCauley, son of Charles Wilbur and Emma Herwehe McCauley was born at Monroe on December 18, 1911, and entered into rest on July 31, 1981, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 69 years.
A 1928 graduate of Monroe High School, Clare later attended the University of Commerce in Des Moines.
On April 18, 1931, he was united in marriage to Joye Scarbrough at Omaha, Neb. After living in Des Moines and Sioux City, they came to farm at Monroe in 1943.
Surviving are his wife, Joye; 2 daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Carolyn) Terpstra of Monroe and Mrs. Marvin (Jane) Sloan of Knoxville; one son, Charles of Sergeant Bluff; a sister, Mrs. Leland (Honor) Balmer of Monroe and a brother, M. D. McCauley of Los Angeles. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents. Mr. McCauley was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monroe, the Monroe Kiwanis Club and was serving as treasurer of the Kiwanis Club.
