Services Held
Funeral services for L. Dale McBride, 73, of Urbandale, a native of Reasnor, were held Thursday, Sept. 13, 1984 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines.
Dr. C. Dendy Garrett, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. McBride died Monday, Sept. 10 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are his wife, the former Gladyce Taylor; two brothers, Wilbur of Oskaloosa and Wayne of Newton; and two sisters, Katherine Gerbracht of Seattle, Wash., and Margaret Longnecker of Fort Morgan, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The son of William L. and Laura Perry McBride, he was born June 15, 1911 in Reasnor and managed Denniston and Partridge Lumber Co. in Reasnor and Perry before moving to Des Moines where he owned and operated the Stanley hardware.
He retired in 1981.
