Services Held
Services for Paul Duane Marshall were held Monday, August 11, 1997, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Officiating the services was Pastor Robert Gadeken. Interment was in Buena Vista Memorial in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Paul Marshall, 70, of Alta died Friday, August 8, 1997, at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Paul was born on May 30, 1927, in Jasper County, Iowa, the son of Hubert and Flossie (Wood) Marshall.
He graduated from Monroe High School in 1945 and from the American Institute of Business after serving in the Army Air Corp.
On June 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marlys Miller at Alta, Iowa. Paul was an accountant in Des Moines until 1955. He then farmed south of Alta until his retirement. He was Maple Valley Township assessor for many years.
Paul enjoyed reading and working with cars, he had been active in politics.
Survivors are his wife, Marlys; mother, Flossie Marshall of Monroe; two sons, Steven Marshall of Alta and Richard Marshall and his wife, Nancy of Alta; two daughters, Barbara Henning and her husband, Mike of Waterloo, Iowa, and Sandra Sextro and her husband, Greg of Denison; six grandchildren, Kevin, Leah and Neil Marshall, Wade and Kim Henning, and Katerina Sextro; brother, Herb Marshall and his wife, Betty of Crystal Lake, Illinois; sister, Catharine Johnson and her husband, Edward of Otley, Iowa; brother-in-law, Al (Dusty) Miller of Bisbee, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Marshall.
