Life Story of Mrs. Olive Marshall
Olive Blanche Woody Marshall, daughter of John M. and Anna Byers Woody, was born July 27, 1892 and departed this life at the age of 74 years, nine months and 24 days.
On September 15, 1915 she was united in marriage with Roy M. Marshall at her parents’ home east of Monroe. To this union four children were born. The couple farmed in the Monroe area until moving to Monroe in January 1959.
She was a member of the Tool’s Chapel Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by their first child, a stillborn son; her parents; and her brother, Amor Woody.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Doris) Gray of Otley, Mrs. Orval (Evelyn) McNown of Moline, Kan., and Mrs. Dale (Reva) McConeghey of Monroe; as well as seven grandchildren, Donna Gray of Hartford, Conn., Carl and Kenneth McNown of Moline, Kan., and Gary, Elaine, Alan and Sheryl McConeghey of Monroe. Also surviving are two brothers, Percy Woody of Auburn, Wash. and Mark M. Woody of Monroe and other relatives.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Marshall Tuesday, May 23 at the Tool’s Chapel church with Rev. James V. Poulsen officiating.
Pallbearers were Donald Van Der Pol, Carl Fennema, Orville Kaldenberg, Cornie Huigen, Jack Duncan, John Nolin, Ralph Buckley, and Lloyd Nolin.
Mrs. Ralph Gloyd was pianist and Mrs. William Lewis was soloist. Mrs. Cornie Huigen and Mrs. Jack Duncan were in chare of flowers.
Interment was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
