Life Story of James F. Marshall
James F. Marshall, 62, a resident of Newton for 34 years, died Thursday evening at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, Robert E. of Reasnor; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Henning of Rt. 4, Newton, and Mrs. Bill (Karen) Samuelson of Newton; two stepchildren, Mrs. Leonard Bowden of Newton and James Stines of Monroe; 8 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Marshall of Monroe; two brothers, Millard of Niceville, Fla., and Maurice of Lexington, Ky.; and four sisters, Mrs. Leo (Cecil) Kinion and Mrs. Hubert (Violet) Schrader, both of Monroe; Mrs. Svend (Lucille) Anderson of Newton; and Rosamond Thompson of Fort Bragg, Calif.
He4 was preceded in death by his second wife, the former Lillian Beatrice Stine.
Mr. Marshall was a member of Tool’s Chapel United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge and was a retiree member of the UAW Local 997.
Mr. Marshall, who retired in 1972, was a machinist at the Maytag Co. for 32 ˝ years.
The son of James R. and May Shaw Marshall, he was born January 17, 1912, at Draper.
