Dr. Lasswell Dies
Former resident Dr. Esmond C. Lasswell, 75, died Feb. 28, 1980. Pastor and Mrs. Lasswell began their ministry by serving the Walnut Street Baptist Church of Muscatine in 1943 and then on to Eldora in 1945 at First Baptist Church. He then attended Southwest Baptist Seminary in Texas and returned to Iowa to pastor the Monroe Baptist Church for slightly more than two years, 1949-1951. Following that they made their home in Knoxville from which he traveled as an evangelist.
In addition to the Iowa ministries, he pastored the West Side Baptist Church of Enid, Oklahoma and a number of California churches.
Mrs. Lasswell makes her home at 3228 Coral Drive, Oceanside, Calif. 92054. Dr. and Mrs. Lasswell celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on January 1st.
