Services Held
Services for John Lathrop, 32, Mitchellville, were held Friday, February 19, 1999, at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date. John passed away February 26, 1999, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Warren County.
Mr. Lathrop was born in Des Moines and had lived there most of his life before moving to Ankeny five years ago. He moved to Mitchellville a year ago. He was employed as a truck driver at Franzen Trucking in Pleasant Hill before recently taking a new position with United Contractors in Johnston. He was an Army veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Keli Lathrop, and a son, John Ross, both of Carlisle; his parents, Bob and JoAnn Lathrop of Altoona; a brother, Mike of San Diego; and his grandparents, Evelyn Cocking of Des Moines and Opal Tinkle of Monroe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
