Steven A. Heck, 64, of Newton died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Careage of Newton. Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, at Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Steve’s name to be made out to Curt Heck, may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, please add, attn.: Heck Family.

Steve, the son of Rex and Evelyn (Anderson) Heck, was born on December 31, 1951 in Marion County, Iowa. Raised in Reasnor, Steve and his family moved to Newton where he graduated from Newton High School in 1970. Steve worked in lumber and paint sales at McKlveen Lumber in Newton and later at Lowes and Iowa Paint in Des Moines. He was a former member of the Newton Jaycees. Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting coins and baseball cards and was a loyal Red Sox baseball fan.

Those left to honor Steve’s memory include his two children, Curt (Tara) Heck and Amanda (Jordan) Roberts, both of Newton; his four grandchildren, Bentley and Brycen Heck, and Drayton and Davin Roberts, all of Newton; his sister, Patsy Partelow of Des Moines; and a nephew, Lucas Partelow.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Heck. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 28 June 2016.
