Services Held Fri. For Arie Kool
Arie Kool, 89, of Rt. 3, Newton, a former longtime resident of the Monroe community, died Wednesday, July 28, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Survivors are four sons, Abram of Monroe, Laurel of Newton, with whom he made his home for the past 11 years, Dan of Newton, and William of Killduff; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Marguerite) Young of Monroe, Mrs. C. E. (Doris) Vogelaar of Mt. Rose, Colo., and Mrs. Ashley (Marie) Canfield of Watsonville, Calif.,; 26 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two brothers and a sister in The Netherlands.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dora, in 1948.
Born July 28, 1876, in Utrecht, The Netherlands, he came to the United States and farmed in the Jasper and Marion County areas.
He was married to Dora Dieleman February 25, 1904.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, August 6, at the Crumpacker Funeral Home.
The Rev. Marlowe Reinholdt, minister of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery.
Dean Kool, the soloist, was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Abram Kool./
Pallbearers were Myron Young, Paul Kool, Norman Kool, Dean Kool, Marty Kool, and Ronald Goeke.
