Henry Klearky Killed by Team

Henry Klearkx, hired man on the farm of John Templeton near Cordova, was killed in an accident which occurred while he was unhitching a team from a wagon with which he been working on the farm Wednesday evening. After he had got the horses partly loosened from the wagon, it appears that they became frightened and started to run. Mr. Klearkx was dragged under the wagon, which ran over his chest, crushing him. This occurred about 6:30 in the evening, and the injured man died about eight o’clock.

Mr. Klearkx came to America from Holland a few years ago and worked until the early part of December for the Garden City Feeder Company in Pella. While here, he wand his family lived above the Geelhoed store. They moved to the Templeton farm in January, where he had secured employment for the season.

He was not an experienced farmer, so it is possible he found some difficulty in handling horses. We did not learn whether there were witnesses to the accident.

He is survived by his wife and two little children and has living in Pella also his mother and two brothers. We do not know of other relatives in America. – Pella Chronicle.
