Life Story of Ben J. Keller
Ben J. Keller, son of Constant and Minnie Keller, was born near Percy, Iowa, March 21, 1895, and passed away with a heart attack at his home November 13 at the age of 77 years, seven months and 26 days.
He was married to Grace Waddle in 1917 and they spent their entire married life on the farm southwest of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Dennis, in 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; a son, Victor, of Monroe; a granddaughter, Mrs. Orville Karr of Monroe; three grandsons, Jerry, Robert and Ben, Jr., all of Monroe; and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chase of Lutz, Fla.; four sisters, Emma Cowman of Prairie City, Elizabeth Rucker, Lota Colyn and Bertha Read, all of Newton; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Keller will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, (today) at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
Rev. Warren McFate, pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Ben Buckingham. Interment will be at Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
