Life Story of Byrda Batty
Mrs. George (Byrda Mae) Batty, 82, of Des Moines, resident of Monroe and Colfax communities until 1958, died Saturday on the way to Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines following an automobile accident.
Services were Tuesday at the Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd Thomas of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Elscott of Newton and Mrs. Theda Grace Boothe of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and nine great–grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband January 25, 1952.
The daughter of William and Mary Brown McDaniels, she was born August 29, 1889, in Dunreath.
She was married to George Thomas Batty January 25, 1904, in Colfax
