Services Held For James Barnett
Funeral services were held Friday at Toland Funeral Home for James Finley Barnett, 62, of 712 W. Sixth St. S., a longtime resident of the Newton community.
The Rev. Austin Rugger, associate minister of the First Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Stella; two sons, Don Kimler of New Orleans, La. and James Kimler of Des Moines; three grandchildren; a brother, Wesley Barnett of rural Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Mr. Barnett was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
The son of James and Savilla Crabtree Barnett, he was born July 26, 1904, at Somerset, Ky.
He married Mrs. Stella Kimler May 19, 1963 at Newton.
