Services Held
Bert Barnes, 78, a former resident of Otley, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 1988 at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Berean Baptist Church in Pella. Rev. Mike Craighead, pastor of the church, and Rev. Jim Johnston of Bussey, conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Hattie LaJean Jansson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and two grandchildren.
The son of Marion and Clara Heatherington Barnes, he was born Oct. 2, 1910 in Lovilia. He was married to Lillie White, Jan. 23, 1938 in Unionville, Mo.
