Services Friday For Jack Armstrong
Funeral services for Jack Carroll Armstrong, 30, Redondo Beach, Calif., former Jasper County resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Toland–Wallace Funeral Home.
Dr. L. H. Athey, pastor of the Center Friends Church, will officiate and burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Armstrong died Sunday of injuries suffered Friday when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by an automobile.
Surviving are his widow, Linda; three brothers, Harold with the U.S. Army in Germany; and Kenneth and Bill, both of Newton; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Hendricks and Mrs. Joan Mathews, both of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Jean Patterson of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Ila Lynch of Monroe.
Also surviving are his parents, Everett Armstrong of Newton and Mrs. Ruth Woods Armstrong of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald, March 19, 1970.
He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.
An employee of the Los Angeles Times, Mr. Armstrong was born May 14, 1941 in Iowa City and attended Monroe schools.
He was married to Linda Barrett June 14, 1965.
Mr. Armstrong was a resident of Monroe most of his life.
