Sandra Kay Albers, daughter of Claire and Bernice Butin, passed away on November 26, 2007, in her home in Olathe, Kansas. She was 65 years of age and had been fighting breast cancer for approximately seven years.
She was a 1961 graduate of Monroe High School and also a graduate of the State University of Iowa as a Medical Technologist.
She worked in the Pathology department of the Olathe Hospital for many years and was blessed with many friends.
She is survived by her parents of Monroe, her brother, Robert Edwin Butin of Ames, and her husband, Dale Albers of Olathe and six grandchildren from their three sons: Brad (Elizabeth) Albers; Bryan (Jody) Albers; Darren (Dawn) Albers. Also left to bereave her are a sister–in–law, Sherry, and a brother–in–law, Rick Albers and her two nieces and children: Elizabeth (Butin) (Steve) Breton and Annie (Butin) (Andrew) Almquist and also two nephews and eight children – Lance (Jennifer) Young and Chad (Tori) Young.
She was preceded in death in 2005 by her younger sister, Lynn Carol (Butin) Mitchell, also from cancer.
She will be greatly missed.
Her funeral was held in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Olathe, Kansas, followed by her burial in Pleasant Valley cemetery in Stanley, Kansas.
