Services Held
Services for Ruth M. Adams of Prairie City, formerly of Monroe, were held Monday, January 28, 2002, at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Ruth passed away January 25, 2002, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Ruth was born May 10, 1920, in Pella, the daughter of Gerrit W. and Sadie (Birkenholz) Kersbergen. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1938. She moved to Monroe as a child and lived here until 1942. She then lived in Des Moines from 1942 to 1996 when she became a resident at Clearview Manor in Prairie City. She was married to Leonard R. Adams November 7, 1942, in Des Moines. Ruth worked at Luggage Inc. for many years in Des Moines. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Survivors are two daughters, Mary Van Baale of Pleasant Hill, and Sherry Graham of Norwalk; and six grandchildren, Michael Van Baale of Des Moines, Rick Graham of Norwalk, Leann Graham of Dallas, Texas, Troy (Kali) Van Baale of Johnston, Iowa, and Lynn (Tony) Kelley, of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1962; 2 sons–in–law, Richard Graham and Donald Van Baale; and a great granddaughter, Natasha and a special friend, Wayne Grigler.
