Services Held

Services for Kenneth Hubert Acklin, of Monroe, were Tuesday, at the Monroe United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Merrill officiating. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Kenneth died Saturday, September 13, 1997, at the V.A. Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorials to the Monroe Ambulance Fund will be accepted.

The son of Stanley and Pearl Birkenholtz Acklin, he was born March 17, 1938, in Monroe.

He attended Monroe High School.

He married Marian Jo Ann Rexroat August 3, 1962, in Monroe.

A lifelong resident of Monroe he was an employee of the City of Monroe for 28 years. Mr. Acklin was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Karen Mott of Newton, Kristy Minasian of Monroe, and Kelly Dunlop of Sycamore, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Carolyn Timmins of Monroe and Maxine Atwood of Newton.
