Graveside Rites For Margaret Abrams
Auto Accident Victim Brought to Monroe For Burial
Funeral rites for Mrs. Margaret Cochrane Abrams, 28, fatally injured early Tuesday, April 26 in an automobile crash in her home city New York, was held at the Carl White funeral home in Des Moines at 2 o’clock Friday with Rev. Garst officiating. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery where brief graveside services were held and the body tenderly laid away by uncles of the deceased serving as the pallbearers.
Margaret Cochrane was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Cochrane. She was born in Monroe, where the family formerly lived and where Margaret attended the early grades of school. Later the family moved to Pella, Iowa where she graduated from the Pella High School. She was a former student at both Drake University and the State University of Iowa. Three years ago, in Des Moines, she was married to Mr. James Abrams, associated with R. K. Webster and Co., Inc. of New York City where they have since made their home.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Abrams is survived by two sisters Mrs. George Nagle, Iowa City and Mrs. G. A. Mokma, Antwerp, Belgium. A brother Runard W. Cochrane is a graduate student at Harvard University law school.
