Services Held
Funeral services for Roger Aalbers, 49, of St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of the Otley–Pella area, were held Friday, October 18, at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
The Rev. John Swadley conducted services. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Pella.
He died recently in Heartland Center in St. Joseph.
Memorials to the Otley Reformed Church or the McCarthy Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Mo., will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; two children, Tammy Aalbers and Dustin Aalbers, both of Newton; a step–daughter, Jenny Nelson of St. Joseph, Mo.; a granddaughter; his parents, Marion and Beatrice Aalbers of Otley; a brother, Randy of Woodward; a sister Lois Haines of Oskaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed in trucking for 26 years.
Mr. Aalbers was born August 9, 1942, in Oskaloosa and attended schools in the Otley–Pella area.
He was married to Helen Janice Nelson November 30, 1985.
