Donald Andrew Brockman, 65, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the V.A. Hospital in Des Moines.

Donald was born November 30, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Opal Brockman. He graduated from East High School, served in the U. S. Air Force, and worked in the laundry department at Mercy Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and remote control cars. He was an animal lover and liked watching movies. Donald was a simple man who lived a simple life. He was a kind and gentle spirit and was always a kid at heart.

He is survived by his children, Robert Brockman, Donny (Simone) Soloman, and Selina Brockman; his step-children, Tammy Aalbers, Dustin Aalbers, and Suzie Aalbers; eight grandchildren; his sisters, JoAnn Prock and Lorraine Payton; his twin sister, Doneta McVey; and the mother of his children, Sandie Brockman.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Brockman; and his siblings, Merle, Dale, Verna, and Elaine.
