Forrest “Frosty” Maxwell, 92, of Baxter, formerly of rural Collins, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home, 1115 E. 19th St. N. in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Baxter Health Care Center or to Care Initiatives Hospice, they may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral home, please add, Attn: Maxwell Family on the envelope.

Those left to honor Frosty’s memory are his son, Donald Maxwell of Baxter; his daughters, Marsha Jo Samuels of Durant and Barbara L. (Dennis) Dutton, Council Bluffs; his daughter-in-law, Joan Maxwell of Grimes; six grandchildren, Scott (Katie) Maxwell, Jay (Sara) Maxwell, Jana (David) Schwerdtfeger, Jess (Michele) Samuels, Brett (Stacy) Samuels and Erin (Derek) DeMoss; his nine great-grandchildren, Eian, Ava, Dakota, Dalton, Drake, Daelyn, Ashley, Jay and Allison; sister-in-law, Caroline Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty in 2008; son, Robert A. Maxwell in 2014; son-in-law, Ron Samuels; eight brothers; and three sisters. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 21 Dec 2015.
