Leonard G. "Lynn" Orrell, Jr. age 92 of Montezuma, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Grinnell Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Prairie City. Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 3, 2016, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Veterans Administration and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Leonard G. and Ruth (Jones) Orrell, Sr., Lynn was born on October 10, 1923 in Epps, Arkansas. Lynn proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He graduated from Epps High School. He met Edna Shera "The love of his life" in 1961, and they have been together ever since. Lynn worked as a manager at Robinson Wholesale in Des Moines. He retired in 1969 due to health reasons. Lynn enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Edna; three children, Dean Nolin and his wife Donna of Plover, Wisconsin; Diane Winegar and her husband Dan of Lynnville; and Denise Hanson and her husband Jim of Windsor Heights; four grandchildren, Mark Winegar and his wife Brynne of Sully, David Winegar and his wife Jessica of Sully, Amy Jo Sterrett and her husband Aaron of Sully and Erica Lynn Kasischke and her husband Tyler of Windsor Heights; seven great grandchildren, Denali, Dalton, Gunner, Carter, Hudson, Jaden, and Austin and several nieces and nephews.
