Norma Modlin, 76, of Newton died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 18, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Norma’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Norma, the daughter of George A. and Doris Mae (Lee) Clark, was born on April 8, 1939 in Hamilton, Iowa. She graduated from Bussey High School in 1957. Following graduation, Norma moved to Newton, Iowa. She worked as a prep cook at the Terrace Lodge until it’s closing and then became a dietary aide at Nelson Manor. For many years after that she worked as a prep cook at Midtown Café. Norma enjoyed crocheting, playing UNO and Phase 10, playing croquet, doing word search puzzles, fishing, and going to garage sales with her granddaughter. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Those left to celebrate Norma’s life are her children, Jeanne (Steve) Cron of Newton and H. Bradley (Cheryl) Modlin of Johnston; four grandchildren, Heather (Andrew), Alex, Jacob, and Chase; two great-grandchildren, Jude and Sicily; her brother, LeRoy Clark of Bussey; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Richard, Eugene, Robert, George, and Larry; and five sisters, Shirley, Beulah, Irma, Edith, and Leona. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 15 Dec 2015.
