Obituary for Debra "Deb" Ketchum

Debra “Deb” Ketchum, 55 of Baxter passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist in Des Moines. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Baxter Community Center, in Baxter, at 10:00 am. A memorial service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 am. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Deb was born on March 6, 1960 to John and Marilyn (Smith) Miner in Longmont, Colorado. She attended school in Otis Colorado and graduated in 19779. After high school Deb completed two years of college and obtained her LPN. On August 31st, 1994 she married Johnnie Ketchum and the couple relocated to Baxter and raised their family there. Deb’s greatest joy was taking care of others, and putting others first. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her other hobbies included family get togethers, gardening, farming, working, and spending time with the residents of Baxter Care Center.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Kelly (James) Reichart, Kari (Jon) Kendall, Karen (Jordan) Stevens, and Michael Ketchum; her grandchildren, Kirsten, Devon, Tyler, Emmalee, Trinity, and Mia; her brothers, Walter Miner, Jack Miner, Billy (Kim) Miner, and Corey (Annalisa) Miner; and many nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
