Nettie Jones, 85, Longtime Care Facility Manager, Dies

Mrs. Harry C. (Nettie E.) Jones, 85, of Rainbow Village, Newton, a former longtime manager of the Jasper County Care Facility, died Wednesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Father Joseph B. Denning, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Friday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Mildred) Miller of Monroe, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Bowen of Marion and Mrs. Ernest (Bertha) Westgate of Burlington; and a brother, Carl Feiertag of Boston, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1934; a sister and four brothers.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Women's Society and Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Jones and her husband, who had managed county homes from the time of their marriage in 1912, managed the Jasper County Care Facility from 191 to 1934. Mrs. Jones continued to manage the facility until retiring in 1954.

The daughter of Charles and Anna Schnider Feiertag, she was born Feb. 23, 1893 at Burlington.

She was married to Harry C. Jones in 1912 in Burlington. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thurs 30 Mar 1978.
