Sylvia Altemeier Services to Be Held on Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred (Sylvia Delight) Altemeier, 78, of 305 E. 19th St. S., a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Tuesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Friday.

Survivors are a son, Frank of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Allen (Susan) Blom of Homestead, Fla.; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Decator of Grinnell; and a niece , Ruth Hockett of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1959, four sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Altemeier was a member of the Center Friends Church, northeast of Newton.

The daughter of Simon and Lulu Jones Small, she was born June 20, 1899 at Lynnville.

She was married Feb. 18, 1930 at Newton.

She died Tuesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thurs 9 Mar 1978.
