Mrs. G. Blakely Dies on Sunday; Rites Wednesday

Mrs. Garney Blakely, 86, of 1006 S. 2nd Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1972 and a longtime resident of the Osceola community, died Sunday morning at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Newton Baptist Temple, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Survivors are two sons, Charles of Des Moines and Harry of Osceola; a daughter, Mrs. William (Arlene) Pfander of Newton; six gandchildren, including Larry Pfander of Newton and Mrs. Richard (Pam) Reed of Colfax; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Blakely was a member of the Newton Baptist Temple.
