Marjorie F. Meckley, born (Feb. 25, 1931) in Colfax, died Nov. 8, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service for Marge will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley, Minn., with a gathering of family and friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 147th and Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. The family asks that you consider donating to any cause fighting cancer.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Selena and Roy Burt; and brothers, Harold, Robert and Gerald Burt. She is survived by husband of 62 years, Robert; children, Gary (Sandy), Diane (Dick) Bowen and Thomas (Kristi); grandchildren, Madison, Andrew, Brayden,Tyler, Zachary, Sarah and Liz; and brother, Marvin (Buddy) Burt. Marge was a beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who always put family first. She will be greatly missed.
