Mary L. Ferguson

Mary L. Ferguson, of 1804 N. 2nd Ave. E. died Wednesday afternoon, Dec 10, at the Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Paul Nulton, pastor of the Community Reformed Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday.
Memorial contributions to the Jasper County Alzheimers Support Group may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are her husband, Lyle; a son, Larry Longren of Newton; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and a brother Howard Peters, Jr. of Rt. 3, Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Francis Peters, Dec. 14, 1980, and a sister, Shirley Waddell July 3, 1986.
Mrs. Ferguson, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, had worked for Thrift Way Food Stores and Newton Manufacturing Co.
The daughter of Howard and Fern Bickford Peters, she was born Nov. 11, 1917 in Oskaloosa, attended Newton Schools and graduated from Newton Community High School.
She was married to Lyle H. Ferguson June 21, 1947 in Kansas City, Kans.
Mrs. Ferguson moved to Jasper County at the age of two. She also had resided in Colorado, Kansas City, Mo., and Chicago, Ill. area before moving to Newton eight years ago.
